A Pellet Gun Question.?

I have a pellet gun I forgot what brand but anyway it doesn’t have a rear or front sight on it. All you can do is aim down the barrel or use the scope. But back to the gun my dad was thinking he can screw a sight on there is there anyway he can?

I agree with CF45. Its possible for a gunsmith to add iron sights without too much difficulty, but the cost would likely be prohibitive. Ironically the problem isn’t the rear-sight. There are peep sights which attach to the 3/8ths inch dovetail commonly found on pellet guns. The problem is that to attach a front sight properly, a dovetail would have to be milled into the barrel for the front sight to attach to. And depending on how the barrel on your gun is made, it could be a very tricky proposition…
The only way I could see adding iron sights at home would be to bodge a front-sight by soldering a BB or a thin metal blade on if the outer portion of the barrel is metal and not plastic/synthetic. (If the barrel sleeve is plastic, epoxy weld might work.) Even then you’d have to be very careful to get the front sight centered or else it would be difficult/impossible to get even a peep sight to zero. Honestly I wouldn’t recommend trying this unless your Dad is extremely mechanically inclined since the odds are the result from messing this up wouldn’t be pretty…

A skilled gunsmith might be able to add iron sights, but it would probably cost more than your rifle.
