Check Out This Horse? Good Deal To You?

Thursday 27 May 2010 @ 6:58 pm

**18 year old tricolor paint gelding 15 hands, about 1000-1100 pounds
**Mostly white, with brown and black markings. Tail is black, mane mostly white, some black and brown.
**Kid broke to death. Can put any age on him. 6 year old rides him now. Has been ridden several times by a 4 year old, she started on him when she was 2 with help. Her twin has cerebal palsy, and can sit on him and rub him with her feet on his neck, doesn’t bother him at all.
**Kids can go up under him, behind him, whatever without a problem.
**Runs barrels and poles (barrel times range from 17 to 25, depending on age of rider and skill level) (pole time ranges from 25 to 45 again depending on age and skill level of rider)
**Rides good with or without another horse
**Loads pretty well, sometimes has his moments, but not very often
**Stands for farrier, grooming, etc
**Not spooky in any way.
**Not a problem around mares or any other animal for that matter.
**Can be ridden bareback and with halter and lead line tied to halter
**Easy to handle, not spirited, follows all commands on time.
**Neck reins like a champ.
**Has been on several long trail rides, parades, down the side of the road, nothing bothers him.
**Has had 3 kids on his back at one time, no problem.
**Rides double with kids or with an adult in the mix
**Will round up cattle and other horses with ease
**Can rope off him, We have never roped professionally with him, just playing around and in pasture
**Very sound, no problems with hooves, barefoot, hooves trimmed every 6 weeks
**Up to date on vaccinations, vet checked, teeth good
**Only problem he gives is he likes to pick his front feet off ground about 6 to 8 inches when he doesn’t want to go the way you want. Doesn’t happen all the time, usually when he is bored or tired.
Has never bucked, reared, bolted, or seriously acted up in any way. When he picks his feet up, you can easily correct it by turning him with one rein.
**Reason for selling, child wants a different horse and he would not be worked enough. Too good to be a pasture ornament.
Asking price is $1500 firm. This price has come down from $2500, so please do not try to negotiate price. He is very well worth the money. Come check him out, you will fall in love with him!
So, I found this ad about the horse, sounds too good to be true, I think. Who knows. Your opinions?

What Guns Can I Own In The Uk?

Thursday 27 May 2010 @ 6:57 pm

I think I can have a shotgun right? And a bolt action rifle and a hunting scoped rifle, plus a long barreled handgun and an air rifle and sound suppressors. What’s the age limits on these and what other weapons can I own? Also, there’s a hooting club near me, how old do I need to be to join? I’m 16, also I’m a crack shot not to brag…

Has Expansion Been A Success, Or A Failure?

Thursday 27 May 2010 @ 6:41 pm

After the founding of the American League in 1901, MLB did not expand until 1961. Those two teams, the Los Angeles Angels and a second Washington Senators, are now playing in their 50th season, surely enough time to look back and consider if expansion has been a worthy effort.
Let’s review.
1961 (2010 is the 50th season) — AL adds Angels, Senators.
* Angels — One relocation (LA to Anaheim), one new park, three home name changes (and currently carrying the bulkiest name in domestic professional sports). Nine postseason appearances, one AL pennant, one World Series championship (2002). Franchise .498 winning percentage. Hall of Fame: eight players, one manager, no plaque caps. Awards: 2 MVPs, 2 CYAs, 1 ROY.
* Senators — One relocation, one new park, one complete name change (now Texas Rangers). Three postseason appearances. Franchise .470 w%. HOF: four players, one manager, one plaque cap (Ryan). Awards: 5 MVPs, 1 ROY.

* Colt .45’s — Two new parks. Nine postseason appearances, one NL pennant. Franchise .498 w%. HOF: six players, one manager, zero caps (Bagwell will break this next January). Awards: 1 MVP, 2 CYAs, 1 ROY.
1969 (42nd season) — AL adds Royals, Pilots; NL adds Expos, Padres.
* Royals — One new park. Seven postseason appearances, two AL pennants, one WS championship (1985). Franchise .483 w%. HOF: four players, one manager, one cap (Brett). Awards: 1 MVP, 4 CYAs, 4 ROYs.
* Pilots — One relocation, one new park, one complete name change (now Milwaukee Brewers), one league change. Three postseason appearances, one AL pennant. Franchise .474 w%. HOF: five players, two caps (Yount, Molitor). Awards: 3 MVPs, 2 CYAs, 2 ROYs.
* Expos — One relocation, two new parks, one complete name change (now Washington Nationals). One postseason appearance. Franchise .476 w%. HOF: two players, two managers, two caps (Carter, Dawson). Awards: 1 CYA, 2 ROYs.
* Padres — One new park. Five postseason appearances, two NL pennants. Franchise .463 w%. HOF: seven players, 1 manager, two caps (Winfield, Gwynn). Awards: 1 MVP, 4 CYAs, 2 ROYs.

What Was So Appealing About Mortgage Derivatives In Particular?

Thursday 27 May 2010 @ 5:58 pm

They do CDOs and Credit default swaps for any type of debt, student loans, car notes, credit cards, whatever. I’m also absolutely sure that these types of derivatives were built to fail, especially when you’re creating a bubble in the market (anyone with any economics/finance schooling knows why, I won’t go into the details we all know.) Anyway, I’m sure all the finance people knew that so why were mortgage derivatives, in particular, so popular over the past 10-12 years (compared to side bets you could make on other things?) Was there some kind of pre-existing mortgage bubble or did the bubble get created by the popularity of mortgage derivatives?

What Kind Of Shotgun Should I Get?

Thursday 27 May 2010 @ 4:57 pm

Hi guys
I’m new to the world of shotgun and clay target shooting and to start i guess i’ll be needing a gun. However, there are so many to choose from and i don’t know where to start?!
So here’s my situation.
I want to get into TRAP and SKEET shooting but I’m not very sure what kind of gun i should get. I have been looking into the guns at my local gun stores and i’ve been giving some thought on getting either a : Beretta 686e , Miroku MK10, Beretta 686 White Onyx, Miroku MK70 Sporter. Can some please tell me what the differences are between these guns and what you would reccomend and why?
I know that Trap guns usually require longer barrels than that of a skeet gun and that the chokes are different when compared. But other than that, is there much difference?
Thanks guys
D.K

Nl East Is The Best Division In Baseball, Don’t You Agree?

Thursday 27 May 2010 @ 4:41 pm

All five teams in NL East are over .500. The no.5 team (the Mets) is only 4 games back to the no.1 team (the Phillies) and no.5 team just shutout the no.1 team. Phillies has the second best record in NL.
There are 1 game difference between no.2 team (Marlins) and no.5 team.
That is amazing to me.
